Below is a short FAQ aimed at new joinees to The Fedora Project from India. Most of the time we get questions like "What do I do now ?". This FAQ is an attempt to provide answers to few of the questions. [1] I just joined The Fedora Project, what can I do ? If you are from India, you should be taking time to subscribe to the fedora-india mailing list available from and, make sure that #fedora-india is part of the IRC channels you join. You should also take a look at join.fedoraproject.org, there are ample projects that you can join and, you can start off your own project on fedorahosted.org too. The fedora-india mailing list is a greate place to discuss what your interests are so that you can get help in joining a project. [2] I am a new Fedora Ambassador, what is expected from me ? If you have just joined the Fedora Ambassador program, you will probably be on your "probation" period. This time is to be used to learn more about The Fedora Project, understand the messaging, check out existing presentations from Ambassadors and contributors. In short, spend this time wisely to become a better "face for Fedora". Additionally, you should be on the fedora-india mailing list and #fedora-india to clarify any doubts you might have and, also to help out others in any way you can. [3] I am interested in a specific project within Fedora, what do I do ? Join #fedora-india and, get your directions. The channels has a wide range of participants in various projects and, getting help from them is fairly easy. Additionally, go through join.fedoraproject.org so that you can relate to the conversations on the channel. [4] I am interested in organizing an install-fest at my institution/workplace/, what do I do ?
